My first ever cut…

On Monday, March 20 I will be starting my first ever cut. Not necessarily with any goal in mind or for any particular reason other than Summer being around the corner and I want to see how far I can push my body and with that the results I can achieve.

I’ll be doing weekly checkins with my updated body comps, marcos (if any changes), weigh ins, my work outs and how I’m feeling mentally and physically.

I do have a end date in mind but that being said if I do reach my goal before hand I will shift everything into more of a ‘maintenance’ mode.

Starting this Friday (week 1) i’ll be uploading all my meal prep, workouts and updated stats! I will be going to the gym 5 days a week and working HIIT training into 2-3 of those days and I spend roughly 60 minutes at the gym.

Beginning weigh ins & macros

I’m 5’0, female (obviously), 26 years old and weigh 123 pounds (with clothes on).

My starting macros are: protein 101 grams, fat 52 grams, carbs 176 grams, fibre 18 grams. 

I calculated my macros at this website H E R E but with that being said I may use Layne Norton’s website. It’s $10 a month and you have access to honestly THE BEST information, not only in regards to macros but everything fitness related. I’ll link his website H E R E and the link to Avatar Nutrition H E R E. Another reason why I love this website so much is that it when signing up it gives you the option to choose that your vegan and everything is adjusted to us plant based humans!

Lavender does what?!

A long over due blog post that I couldn’t stop thinking about.

If you follow me on Instagram than you’ll know that I’ve been obsessed with Lavender lately. So I took to the internet to gather some information on the benefits and uses of it!

Here’s what I found, and to be honest the most shocking to me was fact that you can eat Lavender….who knew?!


We got our lavender, as well as the essential oil from Fiori Oakville (yay for shopping local) and we STILL have the lavender(plant form), unfortunately the oil was used up due to the fact that I take way to many baths.

I pulled this info from Organic Facts – Health Benefits of Lavender Essential Oil. I’m just going to mention the forms I used it for, because I know 100% that it works. You can read the full benefits here

  • Bug Repellent: The smell of lavender essential oil is potent for many types of bugs like mosquitoes, midges, and moths. Apply some of the lavender oil on the exposed skin when outside to prevent these irritating bites. Furthermore, if you do happen to be bitten by one of those bugs, the lavender essential oil has anti-inflammatory qualities that will reduce the irritation and the pain associated with bug bites.

** SIDE NOTE.. I actually tried this for my dog and it 100% works!**

  • Sleep: Lavender essential oil induces sleep which has made it a common recommendation for an alternative treatment of insomnia. Frequent studies on elderly patients have shown an increase in their sleep regularity  when their normal sleep medication is replaced with some lavender essential oil being placed on their pillows. It has such a relaxing impact on people that it can often replace modern medicine for sleep issues.

** I rub this on my temples, wrists, behind my ears and under my nose as well as breathing it on, works wonders**

  • Nervous system: Lavender essential oil has a calming scent which makes it an excellent tonic for the nerves and anxiety issues. Therefore, it can also be helpful in treating migraines, headaches, depression, nervous tension and emotional stress. The refreshing aroma removes nervous exhaustion and restlessness while also increasing mental activity. It has a well-researched impact on the autonomic nervous system, which is why it is frequently used as a treatment for insomnia and also as a way to regulate heart-rate variability.

** I suffer from anxiety and this is definitely a nice replacement for previously used medication **

  • General Skin care: The health benefits of lavender oil for the skin can be attributed to its antiseptic and anti-fungal properties. It is used to treat various skin disorders such as acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions. It is commonly used to speed up the healing process of wounds, cuts, burns, and sunburns because it improves the formation of scar tissues. Lavender oil is also added to chamomile to treat eczema.

** This essential oil REALLY helped my acne. I use to get cystic acne, occasionally even after going Vegan but since I started adding this into my skin care routine I noticed a huge difference! **

Saturday Morning | Vegan Adventures

So I live literally right near a creek and I love going and walking up stream and acting like a freaking bush women, haha it’s just so pretty and filled with nature. I actually saw two deer that I tend to see around from time to time, some fishes swimming, ducks playing and lots of bugs, of course haha. Here’s a few pictures I snapped along the way! 

Also, can we just take a moment and all be excited about the fact that FALL IS HERE!!!


I finally gave in… 

I’m not one for ever doing these ‘fitness challenges’ because I chose to change my lifestyle not my physical activity and eating for x amount of days, then goback to the regularly scheduled program. 

Yet, here I am about to try a 21 day shredding challenge. I figure, I already go to the gym 4 times a week and eat fairly healthy SOOOOO why not change up my workouts a little and be a slightly more careful about what goes in my mouth.

I found this challenge on Muscle and Strength it’s called “Fast & Furious: 21 Day Shredding Workout Cycle & Diet”so many words I don’t particularly like in the title, but hey loosing a couple pounds never hurt anyone. 

First thing I noticed was the meal plan, it’s unfortunately not Vegan friendly but a few changes here and there and of course it can be followed on a Vegan meal plan. I liked how this was changed up based on sex ( yes, as a predominantly male industry a lot of the plans you’ll find are catered to men) and weight. Now, I don’t suggest following this to a ‘T’ because whomever made this, generically created it for as many people as possible to use! You need to take everything into consideration, so medical issues, work, social events etc…

I’m going to be starting this next week, honestly…well see how long I make it haha! 

Il’l be posting daily for 21 days to show progress (obviously that won’t be on the daily) my meal plan (Vegan-style) and my workouts, my thoughts and how I feel during this…. adventure?

A special getaway | I almost died?!

My hubby and I have been married two years as of September 5 2016. Every year we plan a little getaway to spend time just us (& our fur-baby of course) be with nature and enjoy the great outdoors. 

Even though the bugs (well the fly’s) were outrageous and one night the weather was low-key horrifying, it involved me accidentally seeing that where I was, was under a ‘severe storm watch’ which of course, got upgraded to a ‘tornado watch’ (keep in mind where I’m from, does NOT EVER get Tornados or any weather of the sort) and me being the crazy over analyzer that I am, started FREAKING OUT and figuring out all the ways I could potentially die. Of course the Weather Network had to inform us on what to do if and when this Tornado hits – you know stay indoors, go into a room with no windows (preferably a basement) those kinda things… well as you can see from the pictures our cottage was, less than ideal. I had to take it one step further and stalk the Weather Network like it was my ex-boyfriend and research the crap out of how-not-to-die by Tornado – I honestly started replaying Twister in my head and contemplated tieing myself to something that was very, very deep in the ground. After many texts to my dad, literally telling him to pray for my life… and many hours of stalking…. thank goodness a tornado didn’t hit us and the weather warning was lifted and all in all we had SUCH an amazing time. The End, hahahaha

We went from September 7 to 12 and of course, it was another full Vegan adventure (junk food edition) from Vegan nachos to burgers, loaded fries & everything in between …. and a MAJOR detox is currently underway. Which, of course will have to be another blog post 🌿 

Mixing Foods & Digestion


Recently I’ve been experiencing those reoccurring stomach issues that I thought going Vegan had FINALLY solved (not the only reason I went vegan) but of course the stomach issues are back for vengeance.

My mom (don’t know why she decided to wait 26 years to tell me) had told me the other week that ever since I was little’ I’ve always had stomach issues’…thanks mom. So something that I thought had started in my teens was actually an issue since birth.

Luckily, the other day someone had mentioned to me about mixing foods and how that affects our digestion… I actually felt kind of stupid because, what the heck why didn’t I think of this before. SOOOO instead of going to the Dr…..again x50 I went straight to the one thing I can rely on in life… the one thing that knows everything about anything…Google hehe.

So here it is. How I’m figuring this whole digestions thing out and I hope that I can maybe help someone whose having the same super annoying issues I’m having. Enjoy!

some pre-birthday camping.

we still haven’t completely mastered the camping etiquette but I’d say we’re getting pretty close – it’s trial and error basis. this past camping trip we made our way to the port perry area – about 2 and a half hours from our house. we went to this place as a pre- birthday camp to see if we liked it enough to spend three (we usually do two) nights for my husbands birthday and of course the fishing needed to be exactly what he was looking for.

everything went well, we had gotten our fur baby (he’s more like a real child) a pool to play around in, a eating tent (who really knows that they’re called) and a few odds and ends to make our lives a little easier, this was all thanks to the first time we went camping and realized what we needed to do differently.

needless to say it was a great place but not the place. so now were back on the hunt looking for a magical place to call home for three days. my husband is also kind enough to eat totally vegan with me every camping trip, and boy have we basically mastered that, thanks to pinterest, lol.

i’m so sad! no only did i only took a few pictures – i gotta get use to living my life through my camera, i recently got a new phone and my photos of course all disappeared. for now, the pictures from their website (double m campgrounds) will have to do.
